Civic and Business Engagement

Civic engagement is a core value for Lockman-Brooks Marketing Services. Linda has been a mentor to young professionals in the marketing and communications sector. A long-term member of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, Linda has also served on the Executive Committee. She serves on the board of trustees of Central Piedmont Community College and the board of directors of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Foundation. Other board service includes the Charlotte Mecklenburg Community Foundation, Child Care Resources, Junior League of Charlotte, and the Women’s Intercultural Exchange. In 2018 she was the Executive in Residence during the Fall semester for the Wake Forest University MBA Program in Charlotte.

Arts and Culture

Linda has served as the board chair for the Children's Theatre of Charlotte and the Arts and Science Council. She was a key influencer during the fundraising and ultimate establishment of ImaginON: The Joe and Joan Center, a partnership between the Children's Theatre and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library. In 2013, Linda was co-chair of the Arts & Science Annual Fund Drive which raised over 9 million dollars for the cultural sector.

Recognition

The firm's business and civic achievements have been recognized by the Charlotte Business Journal, LaNotica - Charlotte's Spanish language newspaper, The Charlotte Post, and Business Leader Magazine. Linda was named one of the 50 most influential women in Charlotte by the Mecklenburg Times newspaper and was a Catalyst Award honoree by Uptown Magazine.
